Professional Development Events
The Professional Development Committee has been working hard to bring Chamber members great workshops and seminars. The following professional development series is being presented in May and June.

• Basics of Women-/Minority-Owned Government Contracting, Presentation by Russell Teter, Small Business Development Coordinator/Counselor, SBDC, Harford Community College, 8:45 a.m., after the general membership meeting on Thursday, June 4, 2009. Please RSVP so we can ensure we have enough room to accommodate everyone.
  

• Small Business Budgeting and Reporting, Instructor Sharon Mariaca, Monday, June 15th, 5:30 p.m. to 8:45 p.m., Mt. Airy Library: A session on budgeting, bank reconciliations, reports, graphing, etc.

• Quick Books Pro Applications of Budgeting and Reporting, Instructor Sharon Mariaca, Wednesday, June 17th, 5:30 p.m. to 8:45 p.m., Carroll Community College’s Washington Road campus, Room N*202: A Quick Books session with desktop computers teaching these principles with the software computerization.

General Membership Meeting
The GMACC general membership meeting will be held Thursday, June 4, 2009 at 8:30 a.m. Don’t forget to RSVP for the professional development event, Basics of Women-/Minority-Owned Government Contracting, being held immediately following the meeting.

Website Redesign
In the upcoming weeks, the GMACC will be unveiling our new website. The new site will give Chamber members more features and benefits than they current have. Specifically, all current Chamber members will have a unique username and password that will allow them to edit their business listing on the site. As many of you already know, the high amount of traffic on our website leads to many of our members having increased visibility on Google and other search engines. When the new site is launched, register immediately so you can submit your business information.

We will be sending emails out via the email list with specific instructions, but continue to go to www.mtairybusiness.com to see if the new site is up and running. July Meetings
Due to the July 4th weekend, there will be no business meetings in the month of July. Our next Executive Committee meeting will be August 3, 2009 and the General Membership Meeting will be held August 6, 2009.
