Membership Drive
The Greater Mt. Airy Chamber of Commerce will hold its Annual Membership Drive on Thursday, November 12, 2009 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Century Ford,Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, 301 Century Drive in Mt. Airy.

The Membership Drive is a chance for prospective and current members to joinor renew their membership at a discounted rate of $70.00 instead of the normal $95.00. This opportunity is only available on November 12th.

Other discounts available include: 10% off on a table at the Spring Community Expo, 5% off an ad in the Mt. Airy Phone Book, and discounts for multiple ads in the phone book. Members should bring a separate check for ads included in the phone book.

This is also a chance for members to network with one another. Participants will receive a compilation of marketing pieces by fellow Chamber members. Workstations will be available for members to create their online business profile.

Prizes to be raffled have been donated by Wal-Mart Store #2551 in Mt. Airy and M & T Bank. Prizes include Baltimore Ravens tickets, a GPS unit and a $100 gift card. Door prizes will be awarded via a raffle system with members receiving (1) raffle ticket for 2010 membership, (1) for purchasing vendor space at the community expo, (1) for buying an ad in the Mt. Airy Phone Book, (1) for purchasing an ad on our website and (1) just for having your business profile on our website.

The event is being catered by Mt. Airy Tavern with other refreshments donated by Town Grill and Costco.

New Chamber website
Have you been receiving all of the emails from us? Is your business listed on our website? If you haven’t registered, then the answer is “No!” Please take a few minutes and follow these directions. The chamber will stop using the Yahoo Groups service on October 15, 2009 in lieu of the email list generated by our website registration.

1. Go to our homepage www.mtairybusiness.com. On the left side of the homepage, you will see member login and the option to create an account. Select create account and follow the steps. Please double check your email address and hit register.

2. Once submitted, you will receive an email that requires you to verify the email address you supplied by clicking a link in the email. If you did not receive an email within a few minutes of your submission, check your spam folder and/or make sure that @mtairybusiness.com is in your allowed list.

3. Once you click the link in step #2, we will confirm your 2009 membership and approve your account. This step may take several hours.

4. After you receive your approval email, you can login to the site and will be able to view the minutes, download our logos for use, and most importantly create your business profile.

5. Once logged in, you will see the “user menu” on the top left of the homepage.

6. Select “Your Business Profile” and then “add entry”. Please enter as much information as possible so you can take advantage of this feature.

7. Your entry will then be approved and published to the website. This step is not immediate but you will receive an email once your business entry is approved.
