Mt Airy Chamber – Commitment to Community

The Greater Mt.Airy
Chamber of Commerce

Commitment to Community
Commitment to Business

It’s no coincidence that the individuals who make up the membership of the Greater Mt Airy Chamber of Commerce are the same individuals you see active in the community. There’s a shared sense of commitment amongst Chamber members that can be seen not only in their business lives but in their personal lives too. Chamber members gratefully give back to their community.

You’ll find Chamber of Commerce members volunteering with groups such as the Lions and Kiwanis; you’ll see them on the sidelines of MAYAA sporting events (and the names of their businesses on the kids’ T-shirts); there are members from the Carroll County Library and their Community Relations Team; they’re volunteers on the Boards of the Howard County Farm Bureau, the Mt. Airy Volunteer Fire Company and the Woodbine-Mt Airy Recreation Council; they are local politicians, town officials, a local newspaper editor.

The Mt. Airy Town Newsletter is fully financed through advertising sponsorship by the Chamber and its members, alongside the Mt. Airy Downtown Business Association. Chamber members help fund the Firemen’s Carnival and events such as the Lions Breakfast each year by dedicating advertising dollars to these worthwhile causes.

Chamber members serve on the committees for the May Fest and the Fall Fest, making sure that our Town is on the map. Our members serve as speakers for local charities, sharing their professional knowledge and expertise. They serve as volunteers for and on the boards of local Community Foundations, nonprofit organizations, and their churches.

And for those in the local business community who are not currently Chamber members, now is an excellent time to join. New benefits and resources are currently being developed by a leadership committed to making the Chamber a modern and vibrant entity. A new website (www.MtAiryBusiness.com) is being built along with a new e-mail communications list and a growing monthly newsletter.

Next month will feature two networking events. A business card exchange will be held on May 8 at the Lorien facility and on May 27 the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce will be holding a Mt Airy breakfast.

If your concept of doing well includes doing good – if good business means being a good neighbor – then you’ll fit right in at the Greater Mt. Airy Chamber of Commerce. Join today. If you are already a member, become active and help the Chamber help your community!
