2009 Membership Directory

The Greater Mt. Airy Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce the 2009 Membership Director as a new marketing tool that we are offering FREE to all of our members. This publication will reflect our commitment to making Chamber members stand out as trusted and preferred businesses in our community. By doing business with fellow members you are supporting our Chamber as well as our local economy and our directory will be a reference for those who share our common purpose. Your company will automatically be listed alphabetically and by business category simply by being a 2009 member. With our business category listings, it will not only help you gain recognition and exposure but it's like being in the "Who's Who" of Mt. Airy business leaders.

2009 Community Expo

The 2009 Community Expo will be held Saturday, April 18, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. at the Mt. Airy Volunteer Fire Company's Activities Grounds. There will be food, entertainment, prizes and fun for the kids all day.

The deadline for registration is March 16, 2009. If you haven't already signed up for the Mt. Airy Community Expo, contact us today to reserve your space. Don't miss out on one of the biggest community events of the year and the opportunity to promote your business and meet your neighbors. Indoor tables and outdoor tent spaces are still available, but the deadline is fast approaching so be sure to get your registration in before the March 16 deadline.

2009 Scholarships

It is the mission of the Greater Mt. Airy Chamber of Commerce ("Chamber") to promote business and professional services in the greater Mt. Airy, Maryland area. To further our mission, the Chamber has allotted $3,500 for a scholarship to be awarded to a select student. An additional scholarship(s) totaling up to $3,000 may be awarded at the discretion of the Chamber.

The award is an outright gift, not a loan to be repaid or a salary to be earned by performing certain duties. It will be awarded as a one time payment made directly to the institution of acceptance upon presentment to the Chamber of evidence of registration at a qualified education institution. The Scholarship is a one time gift and is not renewable in subsequent years; however, students may reapply regardless of previous award. Though it is expected that a student will be chosen to receive the Scholarship, the Chamber may choose to not make an award in any given year.

The Scholarship is not intended merely to further the education of an aspiring student, but to recognize and assist those students who share the vision and values of the Chamber and show potential of contributing to the greater Mt. Airy community. The deadline for applications is March 31, 2009.
