OCTOBER MEMBERSHIP MEETING

Our monthly membership meeting will be held on Thursday October 5th at 8am at the Mt Airy Fire Hall (corner of Watersville Rd and Main St, park at the rear/lower level and enter through the back doors).

We will have our usual hour of introductions, committee reports and discussions of new and old business.

The nominating committee will be taking final nominations for officer positions for 2007 (elections to be held in November).

Remember that minutes of all our monthly meetings can be found on the Chamber website at www.mtairybusiness.com

Every month members also get to see all the advertising, newspaper coverage and correspondence for the past month.

If you haven’t attended a membership meeting before - come along, get involved and see what the Chamber is up to!

BUSINESS CARD EXCHANGE

The business card exchange for October is on the 5th from 5pm-8pm. It is being hosted by The New Windsor State Bank – manager Denny Ahalt and his staff.

The bank is located in the Twin Arch Shopping Center on Twin Arch Road.

Feel free to bring a door prize and remember, if you know of a business who is thinking of joining the Chamber this is a great event to invite them to.

PLANNING MEETING REPORT

The Chamber’s annual planning meeting was held last month at Lorien Assisted Living. Existing ideas were further developed and new ideas brought forward. Committee budgets for 2007 were also discussed.

Action items and budgets from this meeting will be put to the membership over the course of coming months, at the monthly Thursday morning meetings.

Many thanks to Paula Wilhelm for hosting the meeting and providing a delicious lunch!

BUSINESS CARD EXCHANGE REPORT

Thank you to The Main Event for hosting our September Business Card Exchange.

We had more than 40 people in attendance, including 14 visitors, so there were a lot of new faces and a whole lot of networking going on!

Door prizes won included: Champagne Glasses from The Main Event – won by visitor Rita Alexander. Windsock from The Main Event – won by Jeanne LeRoux, Mt. Airy Dent Repair. Corkscrew by Costco – won by Howard LeRoux, Mt. Airy Dent Repair.

The good fortune of the LeRoux family was purely coincidental and was witnessed by a large group of people!

Thank you to our hosts, Carol and Tim Cahall and their staff, and to Dalia Schulman of Knittin’ Chicks for catering.
