from 4-7 PM and to help breakdown immediately following the event.

MAY MEMBERSHIP MEETING
Our monthly meeting will be held on Thursday May 5th at 8am
- at the Mt Airy Fire Hall (corner of Watersville Rd and Main St, enter through
the back
doors).
As always, there will be a very full agenda and we hope to
have many members in attendance. We welcome new members to stay after the
meeting for a new
member orientation.
NEW MEMBER ORIENTATION - MAY 5th
Ambassador's committee chair Ellie Bonde is planning
another orientation session after the May 5th membership meeting.
Chamber officers and committee chairs will be present, and
all new Chamber members who have joined in recent months are invited.
Refreshments will be
served! We look forward to the opportunity to meet you, to
describe Chamber activities and benefits, and answer any questions you might
have.
BUSINESS CARD EXCHANGE APRIL 28TH

If you did not attend the Greater Mt. Airy Business Card
Exchange, April 28, 2005, you missed a wonderful event. Nestled in the trees off
Christy Acres
Circle, is a beautiful home belonging to John and Lisa
Wolsh. Opening their home for our Business Card Exchange, we had the opportunity
to see John's
magnificent ponds (Premier Ponds) first hand. We wish to
thank them for being such gracious hosts.
The Business Card Exchange was co-sponsored by Lisa's real

Ellie Bonde of Blossom & Basket Boutique, chair of the
Ambassador's Committee, has 100 more packets of marketing materials ready for
new
members. Ellie and her committee will be distributing those
this month.

MT AIRY PHONE BOOK
We had a tremendous response from advertisers, especially
in the final week before the deadline, and the book is currently being prepared
for
publication. Updates on the progress of the project will be
posted to the website.
BUSINESS FAIR VOLUNTEERS
We are looking for volunteers to help with setting up and
running the Business Fair. It's a great way to get involved and meet other
Chamber
members. If you would like to be involved, please contact

UPCOMING BUSINESS CARD EXCHANGES
Forty West Builders will be hosting an evening Business
Card Exchange on Tuesday June 7 from 4-7 PM at their new Model Home.
Costco in Frederick is hosting an early morning coffee &
goodies Business Card Exchange on Tuesday June 21 from 7:30 - 9:00 AM. If you
have trouble
attending the evening exchanges, then this is your chance
to network and mingle.
Our next scheduled exchange is set for October 12 from 5-8
PM at New Windsor State Bank in the Twin Arch Shopping Center.

If you are interested in hosting or co-sponsoring a

our Social Committee

WEBSITE & GOLF TOURNAMENTS
The website is currently featuring a list of upcoming golf
tournaments. If you are involved in organizing a local tournament and would like
to have it
listed, please contact Keir Knight at (301) 829-1982.
As with other areas of the website, this area would be very
well suited for a sponsor! In March we had a record 1,092 visitors to the site.
All members, new and old, are encouraged to check out the
Chamber website to ensure we have your information correctly listed on the
membership page -
and to submit a profile (up to 200 words).
