Bob Cage motioned and Bill Butts seconded to accept December 7, 2006 general membership minutes. Motion unanimously carried.

Finance Committee/Treasurer/Budget: Denis Ahalt. Bank Balance = $17,432.93. $15,000 in 2007 dues received.
Nominating Committee: Because Carol Cahall was re-elected President for 2007 there is no Past President. Because of this, the board can elect a director at large for one year. Bob Cage (the nominating committee) nominated Paul Clay for director at Large. Paul Clay was unanimously elected.
Exec Committee Report: Mailing Labels may be purchased by all members. At their request, members may be taken off mailing list. The President apologized to Chrysalis Dance Company for a nasty letter received. Keir Knight submitted a proposal for Web site support. A contract is being drawn to protect the Chamber and the Contractor. The Marketing Committee will issue an RFP for Web services. Kerry Turner will supervise.
The Historical Society was presented a $2000 check and the Mt Airy Main Street Association a $1000 check by Carol Cahall and Denny Ahalt.
The community is involved in helping fire victims. There currently is no request for help of any kind. There is an effort to set up a Community Fund. There is currently $40,000 available. If additional help is needed in the future, a request will be considered.
Membership Committee: 7 new business joined in Dec. Current 2007 members =187.
Gala Committee: Paula Wilhelm. Gala to be held Jan. 13, 2007.
Ambassador: Ellie Bonde. Folders available to give to prospects. January "Drop in" Lunch at J & P Pizza. Lunches are good place to talk to prospective members.
Professional Development: Marlene Titus. Carroll Com. College offering free courses. Many courses are free. Class run regardless of attendance.
Scholarship: Tim Slane. $ 2500 available. Scholarships are being promoted.
Expo: Filomena Thompson. Have 4 sponsors. Currently 6 exhibitors. Applications available on Web Site.
Advertising & Marketing. Keir Knight. Happy Holidays ads were passed around. Web site is now searchable. All 2007 members are already listed. Year started with 187 members. Committee meeting is upcoming. Watch web site. Phone book ads are being accepted. Deadline is Feb 16. Phone book is a separate organization.
Social Committee: Leslie Brenneman. Business card exchange for January is at Jeannie Bussard Workshop on South Market Street in Frederick from 4:30 to 6:30 PM.
New Business: Carol Cahall requested committees post meeting info on Web Site and Email. If committees spend money, membership needs to know meeting dates and times.
Mt Airy Fire Company requested $2150 for HUMIT valve. Motion to approve T.Watkins. Seconded by Paul Clay. Motion unanimously approved.
Approx. 150 members from 2006 have not rejoined. Current members urged to contact them to re-new.
