– 3rd quarter2006 Budget was reviewed
by the executive committee and proposed to the membership. The voting approval
on the proposed budget will happen at the November business meeting. The finance committee
has been tasked with doing an audit of the books before Oct 31st. The 1024 form to be
recognized as a non-profit is being filed with the IRS, and $500 was allocated

Agency, AllstateAmeriprise FinancialMembership is now 288Membership Drive –
November 17th, Century Ford at 405 Century Drive. If you join at the
membership drive, your membership dues will be $75.Dues: Due to the
possibility of hiring an administrative assistant, it is proposed to raise dues.
2006, $85 ($75 at the membership drive) and 2007 $95 ($85 at the membership
drive). Audrey Stapf motioned, Tom Neff seconded. No discussion, motion passed.Carroll County ChamberAs a Mt Airy Chamber
member, you may attend Carroll County Chamber functions. AmbassadorsEllie is looking for
volunteers to help distribute new member packets. Professional DevelopmentThe first two workshops
will be: Business Uses of Power Point and Financial Tax planning for Small
Businesses. Local businesses can sponsor these workshops, which will appear in
the Carroll Community College brochure (assuming you contact Marlene in time for
print deadlines) Sponsors provide a snack for the workshop. Workshops will be
free to Mt Airy Chamber members, $10 to non-members. More than one company can
sponsor a workshop. AdvertisingAds will come out over
the next week for the next business card exchange. Membership drive will be
advertised, then there will also be Happy Holidays ads.Mt Airy Vol Fire Co,
VFW, Four County Little League have all been sponsored in the past month.Next year’s advertising
budget is slightly higher than this year. This is in hopes of finding more local
venues to advertise in. Old Business
Gala Update Dinner Dance January 14th,
2006 7-11pm. You should be receiving your invitation this month. Deadline for
RSVP is Dec 1. $35 per person. This is a celebration! They are looking for

plans for 2006 and also Carol Cahall shared "How to grow a chamber"New BusinessMail LabelsThe chamber will provide
to the chamber membership, a list of mailing addresses of chamber members. Bank
Right now, chamber money is at Westminster Bank. It is being proposed that just
after Jan 1, the money be switched to New Windsor State Bank. At that time,
there will be at least 2 signatures on the account (right now there is just
one). Archie Rogers moved, Ellie Bonde seconded. Discussion: Fees involved?
None. Why can’t we do it now?
Wait until the audit is complete and officers are installed. Vote called, motion
passed.Business FairApril 29th 2006 Tables will be $125, shared table $75 each half. Contact Archie if you are
interested in being a sponsor. First right of refusal deadlines Nov 17th.
Government RelationsIf you have any
questions regarding any legislative issues, see Frank Johnson. South Carroll Business
AssociationKeir brought up the idea
of becoming a member of SCBA and having a table at their business expo to
promote our business card exchanges and our business fair. Frank Johnson moved
that we join the SCBA for 2006 and have a table at their business expo on March
4, 2006. Joyce Piccard-Busse seconded. Motion passed
