WEBSITE PROFILES

All members, new and old, are encouraged to check out the Chamber website to ensure we have your information correctly listed on the membership page – and to submit a profile (up to 200 words).

The website is getting hundreds of hits a week – a record 760 visits in February – it’s a great opportunity to showcase your business!

WHITE PAGES LISTINGS

If you are a 21771 zip code resident, you are invited to check the White Pages listings for the upcoming Mount Airy Phone book. They can be found on the Chamber website or at the Mount Airy library. Instructions on how to submit corrections are at both locations.

MARCH MEMBERSHIP MEETING

Our monthly meeting will be held on Thursday 3rd March at 8am – at the Mt Airy Fire Hall (corner of Watersville Rd and Main St, enter through the back doors).

There will be a very full agenda and we hope to have many of our new members in attendance.

BUSINESS FAIR

The date of our Business Fair is Saturday May 7th. The event will be held at the Fireman’s Activities Grounds on Twin Arch Rd from 11am to 4pm. Booth space starts at $50 and sponsorships are available, starting at $200.

We are expecting a very good turn-out as MAYAA Baseball’s Opening Day festivities will be occurring next door on the same day.

For complete details and an application see the Chamber website or contact Archie Rogers of Rogers Engraving at (301) 663-4311.

BUSINESS CARD EXCHANGE FEBRUARY 24TH

Our Greater Mt. Airy Chamber of Commerce Business Card Exchange was held on February 24, 2005 at the Stauffer Funeral Homes location in Mount Airy. This event was hosted by Doug Stauffer, George and Courtney Stauffer and D. J. Fenton of Stauffer Funeral Homes; Ellie and Rene Bonde of Blossom & Basket Boutique and the Secret Stork; and Julie Kennedy of Inspiration Point.

With lots of delicious food and drinks, forty-eight people were greeted by a large flat screen TV showing various events that the Chamber has participated in and other pictures of businesses in Mt. Airy. Then they were able to wander around to 13 tables holding formation on 13 businesses in our Chamber. It gave several of our guests a good picture of who we are as a Chamber. It was very well set up and greatly appreciated. The 13 businesses who participated were: Kemptown, Too, Mt. Airy Dent Repair & Touch Up, Susan King – Interiors by Decorating Den, Karen Skidmore, Completely Fit, Paula Wilhelm, Raymond Letterheads, Jim Gill, JMG Enterprises, Rob Truelove, Signs By Tomorrow, Sudha Kaistha, SK Printing, Tim Barkley, Law, Jennifer Swanhart, Tastefully Simple, Barbara Keith, Mt. Airy Jaycees, and Julie Kennedy, Inspiration Point.

Door Prizes were won by:

Picture Memory CD by Stauffer Funeral Homes – Paul Clay, Long & Foster Realtors

Basket Arrangement by Blossom & Basket Boutique – Archie Rogers, Rogers Stamping & Engraving

Inspiration Point Bag of Goodies – Jim Gill, JMG.

Floral Vase arrangement by Blossom & Basket Boutique – Ray Miller, New Horizon Van Lines.

Guests at the Business Card Exchange were Steve Rose – Torn2Shredz, who joined that evening. United Marketing. Rick Nelliger – Rick’s Chop Shop – Barber, who joined that evening. First Financial Group

Many thanks to our hosts for an excellent evening in spite of the snow!
